Why is the 250GB hard disk having less than 233 GB?

All Hard Disk manufacturer way of counting
space is different from the way a software count a space. This means to a Hard Disk Manufacturer, 1GB is 1000 MB, 1 MB is 1000 KB and so on.
Software or computer language recognize a space in terms of power of 2 say 21, 22,23 etc. hence a KB is 210 Bytes which is 1024 Bytes.

Lets do a little math:
From a Manufacturer a 250 GB hard disk is
250 x 1000 x 1000 x 1000 = 250000000000 Bytes

From the Computer Language point of view a 250000000000 Bytes is:
250000000000/(1024*1024*1024) = 232.83 GB

Now you’ll see why your 250GB hard disk has only less than 232.83 GB space in total. Well if you go with higher space like 500 GB and so on the space missing is increasing.

Ram Setu or Adam's Bridge (Ramayana)

This stone at the time of Ramayana  is swing in water till now...

Space images taken by NASA reveal a unknown ancient bridge in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka. The bridge currently named as Adam's Bridge is made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long.
The bridge's unique curvature and composition by age suggests that it may be man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the primitive age, about 1,750,000 years ago.

Some Unsolved Mystery in world !!!

Do Yeti really exist

One of the greatest mysteries of Himalayas is Yeti, an ape like creature which is supposed to roam the snow capped mountains of the area. Over the last more than hundred years, various mountaineers have claimed seeing a yeti or his foot prints in the snow which was of double the size of a human foot. But no conclusive evidence could be found to establish the authenticity of these claims. On the other hand there has been no conclusive theory to prove the yeti a part of folklore or legend as well. It continues to intrigue the mountaineers visiting the Himalayas.

Who created the statues of Easter Island

Easter Island is an island situated in Pacific Ocean. The place is a famous tourist spot as well as a source of puzzle due to 887 statues erected there. There is no conclusive evidence to say
who created these statues. They are a long as 30 feet and weigh in tons. It is difficult to ascertain how these statues were made on this remote island in the time when there was no sophisticated machinery was available. Few people opine that it was the work of extraterrestrials but yet again there is no clear answer to the question.

Bermuda Triangle Mystery Solved

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings.[1] Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were spurious, inaccurately reported, or embellished by later authors. Contrary to popular belief, insurance companies don't charge higher rates for passage through this area.

Computer studies of ocean floors around the world, particularly the area known as The Bermuda Triangle, reveal evidence of massive methane explosions in the past. For years, believers in the paranormal, aliens, and other outlandish theories pointed to the the disappearance of ships and aircraft as an indicator of mysterious forces at work in the "Devil's triangle." Scientists have finally pointed the rest of us to a more plausible cause.

The presence of methane hydrates indicates enormous eruptions of methane bubbles that would swamp a ship, and projected high into the air- take out flying airplanes, as well.
Any ships caught within the methane mega-bubble immediately lose all buoyancy and sink to the bottom of the ocean. If the bubbles are big enough and possess a high enough density they can also knock aircraft out of the sky with little or no warning. Aircraft falling victim to these methane bubbles will lose their engines-perhaps igniting the methane surrounding them-and immediately lose their lift as well, ending their flights by diving into the ocean and swiftly plummeting.

25 Fact About Human Body

1. The average person produces enough saliva in their lifetime to fill up two swimming pools.

2. Most babies are born with blue eyes. Exposure to ultraviolet light (the sun) and melanin are what eventually bring out their true color.

3. Except for identical twins, every person on earth has a unique smell.

4. Your brain is demanding, as it uses about 20% of your entire body’s oxygen and caloric intake.

5. In order to taste something your saliva must be able to dissolve it. Hard to believe? Try drying off your tongue before eating your favorite candy.

6. Your bones are strong. Very strong. In fact, one matchbox sized chunk of bone can support over 9 tons of weight, or four times that of concrete.

7. For the next sixty seconds if you could follow one of your blood cells it would take you on a complete circuit of your body.
8. We are visual creatures, as almost 90% of the information we receive about our environment comes from our eyes.
9.On average, men produce about 10 million new sperm daily. That’s enough to repopulate the entire planet in 6 months.

10. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and in a male adult, if it were to be stretched out, it would cover roughly 20 sq ft.

11.To grow all the way from the base to the tip, your finger and toenails can take up to half-a-year.
12.  The digestive acid in your stomach is strong enough to dissolve zinc, which begs the question, how on earth does it stay there? Simple, it’s because your stomach cells are renewed more quickly than the acid can destroy them.

13.A baby’s foreskin, which is no bigger than a postage stamp, can grow to be the size of 3 basketball courts in less than a month. This is why it is used extensively to treat burn patients.

14. Over the course of your lifetime, if you are an average human, you will shed about 40 lb of skin (18kg).
15. In each one of your kidneys there are 1 million filters that clean around 1.3 liters of blood every minute and push out close to 1.5 liters of urine daily.
16.In their lifetime, average westerners consume 50 tons of food and 50,000 liters of liquid.
17. You are hot. So hot, in fact, that in just 30 minutes your body can produce enough heat to boil a half gallon of water.

18. Sometimes people can just see you need to go to the bathroom…literally. Your bladder, when it is full, gets noticeably bigger.
19. A female’s ovaries have over half-a-million eggs, but only about 400 of them will ever get the opportunity to create life.
20.Your body contracts the muscles that focus your eyes about 100,000 times from sunup to sundown. If you wanted to give your legs an equivalent workout it would require walking at least 50 miles every day.
21. There are more than 300,000,000 capillaries in your lungs and if they were stretched out tip to tip they would reach over 1,500 miles – long enough to start in Los Angeles and end up in Atlanta.
22.You can’t tickle yourself. Go ahead. Try.
23.Your feet have roughly half-a-million sweat glands that can produce up to a pint of sweat daily.
24.By the time you go to bed at night you are about 1 cm shorter than when you woke up that morning. This is because the cartilage between your bones is compressed throughout the day.
25.A higher IQ is correlated with more dreams. Our conclusion? Nerds are dreamier.

Astronomers Discover Three Alien Planets Smaller Than Earth

Using the data from NASA’s Kepler mission, astronomers have found three alien planets smaller than Earth, orbiting a star much smaller than our Sun.
The planets, which are orbiting a red dwarf star known as KOI-961, are 0.78, 0.73 and 0.57 times the diameter of Earth, making them the smallest alien planets discovered so far.
The KOI-961 is located 120 light-years away, in the Constellation Cygnus (The Swan). It’s approximately one-sixth the size of our sun, which made it possible for scientists to watch for dips in the star’s brightness and thus discover the orbiting planets.
The planets are thought to be rocky like Earth, but they are too close to the star to be habitable – at least by our standards.
“It’s almost like you took a shrink gun and zapped a planetary system, the whole thing, including the sun,” John Johnson, principal investigator John Johnson of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, told Space.com.
Recently, also using data from the Kepler mission, scientists have discovered two Earth-sized planets orbiting a star almost 1,000 light-years away.

Some Oldest and Amazing Temple In World!!!

1 . Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched precariously on the edge of a 3,000-feet-high cliff in Paro Valley, is one of the holiest places in Bhutan. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche[wiki], the second Buddha, flew onto the cliff on the back of a tigress, and then meditated in a cave which now exists within the monastery walls.
The monastery, formally called Taktshang Goemba, was built in 1692 and reconstructed in 1998 after a fire. Now, the monastery is restricted to practicing Buddhists on religious retreats and is off-limits to ordinary tourists.

2. Wat Rong Khun
Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai, Thailand is unlike any Buddhist temples in the world. The all-white, highly ornate structure gilded in mosaic mirrors that seem to shine magically, is done in a distinctly contemporary style. It is the brainchild of renowned Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat.

Actually, the temple is still under construction. Chalermchai expects it will take another 90 years to complete, making it the Buddhist temple equivalent of the Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona, Spain!

3. Shwedagon Pagoda
No one knows exactly when the Shwedagon Paya [wiki] (or Pagoda) in Myanmar was built – legend has it that it is 2,500 years old though archaeologists estimate that it was built between the 6th and 10th century.

Now, when people say "golden temple" they usually mean that the structure is golden in color. But when it comes to the Shwedagon Pagoda, golden literally means covered in gold! In the 15th century, a queen of the Mon people donated her weight in gold to the temple. This tradition continues until today, where pilgrims often save for years to buy small packets of gold leafs to stick to the temple walls.

As if all that gold wasn’t enough, the spire of the stupa or dome is covered with over 5,000 diamonds and 2,000 rubies (there’s even a 76 carat diamond at the very tip!). And oh, the temple housed one of the holiest relics in Buddhism: eight strands of Buddha’s hair.

4. Borobudur
In the 19th century, Dutch occupiers of Indonesia found a massive ancient ruin deep in the jungles of Java. What they discovered was the complex of Borobudur, a gigantic structure built with nearly 2 million cubic feet (55,000 m³) of stones. The temple has nearly 2,700 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues.

Until today, no one knows for sure when and why it was built, nor the reason for its complete abandonment hundreds of years ago. Some scholars believe that Borobudur is actually a giant textbook of Buddhism, as its bas reliefs tell the story of the life of Buddha and the principles of his teachings. To "read," a pilgrim must make his way through nine platforms and walk a distance of over 2 miles.

5. Golden Temple
The Harmandir Sahib (meaning The Abode of God) or simply the Golden Temple [wiki] in Punjab, India is the most sacred shrine of Sikhism. For the Sikhs, the Golden Temple symbolizes infinite freedom and spiritual independence.

The site of the Temple began with a small lake that was so peaceful that even Buddha came there to meditate. Thousands of years later, Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism also lived and meditate by the lake.

Construction of the Golden Temple began in the 1500s, when the fourth Guru of Sikhism enlarged the lake that became Amritsar or Pool of the Nectar of Immortality, around which the temple and the city grew. The Temple itself is decorated with marble sculptures, gilded in gold, and covered in precious stones.

6. Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple
Potala Palace [wiki], built on top of the Red Mountain in Lhasa, Tibet, China was built by the first emperor of Tibet in 637 CE. The current palace was re-constructed in the mid-1600s by the fifth Dalai Lama.

The Palace consists of two main buildings, the Potrang Karpo (White Palace) and Portrang Marpo (Red Palace). It was the chief home of the fourteenth and current Dalai Lama until he was forced to flee to India when China invaded Tibet in 1959. It is now a state museum.

7. Varanasi
Varanasi in India is not a temple, but ais ctually a famous Hindu holy city, located at the banks of the Ganges River. It is, however, often called the "City of Temples," where almost every road crossing has a nearby temple. A center of pilgrimage (as many as a million pilgrims visit Varanasi each year), the city has links to Buddhism and Jainism as well.
